We work with top FTSE 100 & 250 companies
Our team is passionate about helping FTSE, internationally listed businesses, and high-growth organisations find the best talent for their 2nd and 3rd lines of defence assurance teams. Internal audit, internal controls testing/ implementation and documentation, enterprise risk management, and compliance; are all specialisms that our team can advise you on. We can help you across a range of sectors; industry and commerce, financial services, and not-for-profit.
Corporate governance roles we recruit for:
INTERNAL AUDIT
RISK MANAGEMENT
INTERNAL CONTROLS
SOX, J-SOX, and UK SOX
COMPLIANCE
OUR TEAM OF SPECIALISTS:
These 2nd and 3rd line specialisms have been at the core of IAC since the company was founded in 2011. Our database and network stretch as far back as 1995 when our co-Founder, Guy Stacey commenced his career in governance recruitment. Guy now focuses on Executive Search, alongside Julia White.
Julia heads up the “in-house” 2nd and 3rd line defence recruitment team. Alyssa Walsh and Ross Jenkins join her in helping teams find talent across the Globe. The team operates on a global scale, helping find talent in the UK, EU, US, South America, Middle East, Asia, and Australia. If you would like to arrange a consultation with our team about an upcoming recruitment process, contact us at Julia.white@iac-recruit.com
What our Clients and Candidates say
What type of recruitment search do you need?
Retained/ Exclusive search;
Partnering with IAC exclusively allows our team to dedicate more time, resources, and methods to find you the best possible candidate. As well as providing an in-depth and thorough brief to the candidates who are actively looking for a new role, we will perform a deep dive into the “passive” candidate market. This allows you to maximise the number of people you assess for the role. Passive candidates also tend to not be involved in as many recruitment processes!
This type of search provides us the time to map the market, your competitors, and make sure we have rigorously scoured the market for the best person. 50% of clients now choose to work in this way. Handing a recruitment process fully to one specialist will save you time, and increase the chance of successfully filling the role.
Contingent search;
For some searches, a contingent search works best, and we would advise you on when this is the case. We have a rich database of candidates who are actively looking. Working contingently will allow you to access these “live” candidates.
For a deeper dive into the candidate market; in particular, seeking out candidates who are not actively interviewing with other businesses, we recommend an exclusive search so we have the time to map out the entire candidate market for you.
Interim/ Fixed term contractor search;
We can provide you with candidates who are looking for contract positions. These candidates are usually immediately available. You will need to tell us if this contract is inside or outside IR35 for a day rate contractor.
We are an Intenational search firm
We also support global talent recruitment. Many of our clients are global businesses and need international capabilities and flexibility. Previously, we have hired across all 7 continents including the following regions:
UK, Europe, North America, South America, APAC, Middle East, and Africa.
Since Brexit, we have been a huge advocate for supporting clients to continue hiring European talent. We believe it is important to maintain the quality of candidates that we have worked with previously.
The language aptitude and cultural diversity that international hires can offer an organisation are crucial in any internal audit department, global or otherwise.

We do so much more than only help you recruit strong talent.
Our team is dedicated to helping assurance professionals in their career development.

This is an area of real interest to many UK-listed businesses given the upcoming requirements by the government. We have a strong database of candidates who have performed controls gap analysis, implemented controls frameworks, designed new and more efficient controls, documented and tested controls, and fundamentally improved the controls culture across the business.
Therefore if you are planning to implement UK SOX please reach out to us at Julia.white@iac-recruit.com
