The Challenge
IAC were approached by Altruistiq’s CEO, Saif Hameed to help scale the Sustainability Insights team of the then early-stage climate-tech start-up. Saif identified IAC as a knowledgeable, well networked partner closely aligned on culture, values and ethos.
Saif needed technical sustainability professionals across carbon accounting and LCA who were client facing, used to working with large enterprise customers and with the right mindset, agility and entrepreneurism to join an early stage, product focused climate-tech business. A deep and genuine passion for impact and cultural alignment was especially critical with these early hires.
The Recruitment Approach
As an early-stage start-up (and for the initial hires still in stealth mode) Saif was keen to leverage IAC’s marketing capability and reach within sustainability as well as market knowledge to identify and engage the right candidates.
Utilising deep relationships built from scaling Deloitte’s sustainability consulting team and wider networks we called on specific referrals and headhunted, screened and qualified candidates with the right blend of technical ability, attitude and values alignment to fill 6 technical client facing positions.
The Outcome
A total of 6 out of 6 placements were made at various levels across the team within LCA (life cycle assesment) and carbon accounting specialisms.
We have continued our partnership as Altruistiq have grown from half a dozen people to over 70.
Saif was a speaker at our 2023 Sustainability Social event and Vicky Hudson (Head of Customer Success) has even helped upskill our IAC team on all things carbon and climate-tech. We are happiest partnering with like-minded organisations who are driving real change and love being with them on their journey as they scale.
